Andy Girl!

In less than a week, Ottawa is going to be "up" one very sweet dog!

Alexandra (aka Andy!) will be arriving the weekend of September 3rd. She has been in a shelter in Kentucky for one month now and when we had a spot open up in our home, we couldn't think of a more worthy candidate for LOYAL's rescue program!

Did you know that larger, black dogs are usually the last to be adopted (if they can even stay around long enough to be given the chance to find a home)? Although she has some pretty cute tan markings she is primarily black and we just couldn't stand to see her become a statistic.

Please stay tuned for new pictures and updates! All we know is that this is one sweet, affectionate, playful girl who loves other dogs and cats. She is 4 years old and weighs in at approximately 50 lbs. Shelter staff have commented that she would be excellent with children!

Congratulations Scotch!

Today Scotch is jumping for joy because he officially has a wonderful forever home to join at the end of the month.

His new mom Katty, sister Sabrina, beagle-sister Saydie & feline companions Feebee, Mesou and Bizou are so thrilled to welcome Scotch home on August 29th.

For those who have been inquiring, Scotch's ophthalmologist appointment went well this morning. His onocular pressure readings were insanely normal (yay!), there was no pain or discomfort (double yay!) and it was confirmed that our sweet boy has "tunnel vision" so he can see, but just in a small and narrow straight line! Its not to say that these things can't change over time as the glaucoma advances, but he has a great family who will stick with him no matter what and for the foreseeable future, Scotch's looks bright!

Tennis Ball Fun!

Just this past weekend, Scotch discovered his love for tennis balls! Oh it was just pure delight to watch him pick it up and throw it across the yard and scoop it up again like it was a real trophy :) He pranced around the yard with that ball in his mouth with such pride, we just had to capture the moment with a photo!

This picture features Scotch with his new foster brother, BFF & partner in crime, Parker. Parker is our little mystery breed, full grown at 20 lbs and just a friendly, affectionate, playful little soul. Over the past week Parker and Scotch have been inseparable! They wrestle, tug, nap and cuddle together just like peas in a pod! Here is a sneak peek at a little play-fest between the two of them:
